Business Incubation Center (BIC), Ra
Business Incubation Center (BIC) is a facility with adaptable space and support services that small businesses can lease on flexible and affordable terms for entrepreneurial activities. BICs enable new businesses to access services that they would otherwise be incapable of accessing on their own and these include managerial, technical, financial, marketing or administrative services.
The BIC facility aims to help entrepreneurs start up and grow successful small businesses particularly in the rural areas as it provides the environment and conditions for rearing and nurturing ‘infant’ businesses, minimises the risk of failures of new SMEs through the provision of on-the-job support services and promotes the development of rural based businesses and cottage industries.
NCSMED has established a BIC at Vaileka, Ra which was officially opened by the Care-taker Minister for Commerce, Business Development and Investment, Honorable Tomasi Vuetilovoni on the 28th of April, 2006. The people of Ra have been given the opportunity to take advantage of the technical and business assistance provided in order to either start up attractive business enterprises or expand their existing businesses into a more profitable venture for the overall growth and development of niche industries in Ra.
