India Gives $3.6m To Govt’s Micro, Small Business Grants

 

India has given $3.6million towards the Government’s Micro and Small Business grant scheme.

Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum  thanked the Indian Government for its assistance.

He said the Indian government was known for helping grassroots movements, through civil society and Non-Government Organisations in Fiji and other nations.

He said the commitment was possible through the visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014. He had made a pledge to assist the micro-enterprise grant.

 

Indian Minster of State for External Affairs General (Ret’d) Vijay Kumar Singh presented the cheque to help the scheme. He said India and Fiji enjoyed a very close and cordial bilateral relations.

 

The relations had strengthened over the years and had become a people to people relationship.

“I am happy that the leadership in Fiji has been able to make a mark in assisting its people.
