Micro & Small Business Grant 2016-2017 Expression of Interest for New Applicants


The Fijian Government is continuing its most successful initiatives, the Micro and Small Business Grant Scheme. Micro and small businesses that are eligible for the grant will receive up to $1000 to expand their existing business or to initiate new business activities.


Therefore, the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism is calling on new applicants for the Micro and Small Business Grant for the 2016-2017 financial year.


The Grant is to encourage small-scale economic activities and will be targeted at individuals who have particular skill sets, including but not limited to, handicrafts, poultry business, small-scale fruit, vegetable sellers, bee-keeping and livestock farming, etc.


The Grant will allow micro and small enterprises to boost their income capacity and improve the standards and quality of their products and services. It will also provide a solid platform to secure further funding from financial institutions and encourage equal business opportunities and growth.


The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, in partnership with the Fiji Development Bank, will provide the application form and the criteria from Wednesday, 24 August 2016, at the following locations:


1. Ministry of Industry, Trade & Tourism, Level 3, Civic Towers, Victoria Parade, Suva.


2. Fiji Development Bank, 360 Victoria Parade, Suva.


3. FDB Branches: Ba, Labasa, Lautoka, Nadi,

Nausori, Rakiraki, Savusavu, Seaqaqa,Sigatoka, Nabouwalu and Taveuni.


4. Department of Co-operatives Business: Lami training centre, Sigatoka, Lautoka, Labasa and Savusavu.


5. NCSMED Offices: 82 Robertson Rd Suva, Vaileka House Rakiraki and Ground Floor Macuata House – NDP Office.


6. Office of the Provincial Administrator: Ba, Bua, Cakaudrove, Kadavu, Lau, Lomaiviti, Macuata, Nadroga, Naitasiri, Namosi, Ra, Rewa, Serua, Tailevu.


Completed application forms with all the requirements can be lodged at your nearest FDB Branch or at the Ministry’s Headquarters at Level 3, Civic Tower, Victoria Parade, Suva or mailed directly to the Ministry or FDB Head Office to:

Applications close on Friday, 14 October 2016. Past recipients of this grant need not apply, as the Ministry will only consider new applicants. Late applications will also not be considered.
