Fundamental Principles

The fundamental principles of the Centre are:

  1. To be user-driven
  2. To encourage cultural and environmental friendly activities
  3. To be gender-sensitive
  4. To service private and public institutions which assist SMEs
  5. To be future-driven
  6. To be Fiji-driven
  7. To develop methodologies and products of quality for operators
  8. To make choices according to priorities for the Centre’s integrity, autonomy and efficiency
  9. To develop a network of partners selected on their ability or potential to deliver services
  10. To operate on a cost-recovery basis
  11. To contractualise working relationships with second tier organisations and other partners
  12. To pursue activities which complement and promote synergies with the work of similar agencies
  13. To look for high-leverage sustainable activities
  14. To target high-value added activities;
  15. To develop the Centre’s geographical outreach by using proxies
  16. To work with other research partners
  17. To standardise existing practices
  18. To carry out test pilot schemes on selected SMEs
  19. To consolidate its activities
  20. To minimise the pressure of urgency through regular planning sessions involving all divisions of the Centre
  21. To use the “one business per village” imperative for fair allocation of services and resources
  22. To encourage teamwork and dialogue in Centre activities.
